The 3-day training begins according to the principles of Flipped learning with an introduction of the objectives and explanation of what project-based learning is, what scrum is, including the different roles used in scrum such as Product Owner, Scrum Master and Team Members, and the key events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review and Retrospective. This is followed by a discussion of scrum artefacts and working methods, focusing on the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog and Increment.
During the training, several workshops are held in which participants simulate a simple scrum cycle and practice writing user stories. The GreenComp and LifeComp competences are also introduced and discussed how they can be integrated into lessons.
In the remainder of the training, participants brainstorm relevant project ideas and choose a project that matches the GreenComp and LifeComp competences. They elaborate the Product Backlog by creating and prioritising user stories for the chosen project, and plan the first sprint where tasks are distributed among team members. During daily stand-up simulations, participants discuss progress and obstacles.
As the training progresses, participants carry out the planned sprint tasks and monitor progress. Here, they evaluate results during a Sprint Review session, including peer assessment and self-assessment. In a retrospective session, they discuss what went well and what can be improved, and identify areas for improvement for future cycles.
