This job shadowing focuses on combining occupational language learning with vocational learning in technical, logistics and service-oriented sectors. The host organisation develops and provides workplace-oriented language instruction for learners and employees in contexts such as transport, warehousing, cleaning, kitchens, hospitality, airport services and production environments.
Participants will observe how language teachers translate authentic workplace situations into learning activities. They will examine how profession-specific vocabulary, oral communication, instructions, safety-related language and workplace interaction are integrated into teaching materials and learning tasks.
The job shadowing will also explore forms of language teaching delivered in cooperation with companies or directly in the workplace. Participants will discuss how language provision can respond to the concrete needs of employees and employers while supporting broader participation and progression in vocational pathways.
During the final reflection, participants will identify elements that could be adapted for CVO programmes in which language development, vocational skills and workplace learning are combined.
