This is a mobility exclusive for VET schools.

During this ERASMUS+ job shadowing, participants are given the opportunity to explore the education system of the host country, with a special focus on how technical and vocational education (TVET) is organised. Within this framework, the emphasis is on an important and topical theme: active citizenship.

The participants will be introduced to how a specific technical and vocational education school incorporates the theme of active citizenship into its operations. They will discover through lessons, projects and school-wide initiatives how this school manages to make this theme accessible and relevant to their specific target groups, which often have very diverse backgrounds.

In addition, the added value of explicitly focusing on citizenship education in a vocational context is examined. Participants have the opportunity to see how this contributes to the broad education of young people, their social involvement and their competencies as future citizens and employees.

Finally, this mobility is an excellent opportunity for exchange and dialogue with fellow teachers and students in the host country. These discussions allow for the sharing of perspectives and joint reflection on the role of active citizenship in a contemporary and meaningful curriculum within technical and vocational education.
  • Participants learn about the education system of the country they are visiting
  • Participants gain insight into how a technical and vocational education school can offer the subject of active citizenship to their specific target groups through courses and other activities
  • Participants discover the added value of explicitly focusing on the theme of active citizenship within technical and vocational education
  • Participants engage in dialogue with other teachers and students about the importance of active citizenship as part of a contemporary curriculum within technical vocational education.

Participants:

  • can express themselves in English;
  • are team players;
  • can transcend their own context and have great empathy;
  • have a didactically creative and innovative mind;
  • can inspire others;
  • can transfer knowledge gained internationally to other contexts;
  • are willing to engage in a learning network in which they share what they have learned with colleagues across participating educational institutions;
  • are willing to turn what they have learned into effective changes in their own classroom practice and share this within the learning network and beyond.
