AI in class

This ERASMUS+ job shadowing offers participants the opportunity to explore the education system of the host country, with special attention to how innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) are integrated into education.

During the visit, the participants are introduced to AI technology in a broad sense: what is AI, how is it developing, and what impact does it have on learning, teaching and school organisation? The focus is not only on theoretical insights, but above all on concrete applications within educational contexts.

Participants observe how AI is integrated into the curriculum, both at the school level and in classroom practice. They discover how teachers use AI to personalise learning processes or to teach students new skills that are crucial in a digital society.
Participants also have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with teachers, school leaders and possibly students who already have experience working with AI. This exchange offers valuable insights into the opportunities, challenges and ethical considerations associated with the use of AI in education.

This job shadowing is thus an inspiring experience that not only familiarises participants with the technological side of AI, but also encourages them to think about its didactic and pedagogical added value within their own educational context.

Participants:

• Grasp the complexities of AI, debunking myths and grasping its real-world applications in education, irrespective of your initial stance or level of expertise;
• Acquire strategies for navigating mindset shifts among educators and students alike, transforming hesitance into constructive engagement with AI tools;
• Understand the ethical considerations of using AI, including but not limited to, issues related to data privacy and AI-generated plagiarism;
• Get hands-on experience with a selection of AI tools focused on textual and visual content, equipping you to make informed choices for your classroom;
• Learn how to seamlessly incorporate AI into your existing curriculum to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes;
• Acquire methods for using AI tools to encourage critical thinking and independent learning among students, negating concerns about intellectual laziness;
• Appreciate how AI can offer unique advantages in the realm of special education and individualized learning plans;
• Develop the skills to generate AI-assisted educational content, ranging from lesson plans to interactive activities;
• Equip themself with strategies to deal with the ethical and practical challenges posed by AI, including plagiarism and data security;
• Understand how AI is shaping educational strategies on a macro level, supporting your continuous professional development in a rapidly evolving field;
• Engage with educators from various EU nations, enriching your learning experience through cultural exchange and the sharing of best practices;
